A focus group consists of a collection of people assembled together to discuss particular topics, demonstrating their own opinion. It is a form of qualitative research used in marketing to acquire feedback regarding new products.
They’re beneficial because it gives the institution
an idea of the overall direction for their product during the early stages of
concept development. Ideally, this means that I can apply the research I have
acquired to my folk magazine.
I believe it hasn't truly helped me as the people I interviewed didn't correspond with my ideal target audience in terms of age and gender, therefore, I wasn't able to collect information or ideas relevant to my magazine genre. For instance, one individual suggested makeup as a particular prize, although, this isn't associated with folk culture. On the contrary, I found some answers useful. I discovered that exclusive features, such as interviews and festival guides, are appealing, in addition to free items. Consequently, I will include this content when constructing my magazine.
